- All summer staff members receive full room and board during their time at camp, including weekends between sessions. Personal spending money may be needed for meals or activities during some off-camp trips.
- Worker's Compensation Insurance is in effect for any camp-related accident or illness. It is strongly recommended, though, that staff members have personal health insurance to cover non-camp-related illnesses or medical situations that may arise.
- Travel expenses are covered. The entire staff travels as a group from camp to camp and this cost is covered by Handi*Camp. Gasoline is purchased by Handi*Camp for camp use of personal vehicles to assist in staff transportation or camp field trips.
Staff members are given the opportunity to participate voluntarily in a program to promote the Handi*Camp ministry to their family members, friends and/or church. Using promotional materials supplied by Handi*Camp, staff members may encourage these folks to make tax-deductible gifts to Handi*Camp which are then added to the base salary provided by Handi*Camp.
(NOTE: There is a 200% cap on the amount of additional salary that can be received through these gifts so a staff member can triple his/her total salary for the summer depending on the amount donated.)
Withholding taxes are deducted from both base salary and additional gifts.
