The death of a child is like no other loss. Everyone is profoundly hurt to learn that a child has died --but the loss to the child's parents is overwhelming, whether the child is not yet born, stillborn, a baby, a toddler, a teen or an adult!

BASIS people are willing to help "bear the burden" of grieving parents through their encouraging and informative bereavement ministry.

"It's so hard not to become moody or irritable. I keep asking, 'Lord, why did you take my child?' I look forward to having the fellowship and comfort of meeting with other parents who have lost a child. It helps to share the hurt and be reminded of the hope Jesus offers."
--from a bereaved mother

BASIS is also a support system for grieving children and teens.

"Kids in Grief" and "Teens in Grief" are aspects of BASIS which minister to the hurts of young people who have experienced the death of someone they love -- a sibling, a parent, a friend.
The grieving process of a child or teen is often disguised so it can easily be overlooked; but, through the BASIS ministry, they find help and understanding in their unique grief.
