Meet the Director of Disability Training

Laura Lewis

Laura has her B.A. in special education and has presented workshops on disability ministry at various church conferences. She writes a column on disability issues for the "Penn-Jersey", the monthly newsletter published by the Baptist Convention for PA/Southern New Jersey, reaching 5900 people.

Meet the rest of our Disability Training Team:

Patti Nell

Patti has her M.A. in Special Education and has 31 years of experience with people with disabilities and of training others to work with people with disabilities. Patti is the coordinator of Spiritual Life activities for H*VMI's Handi*Camp programs.

Marlene VandenBos

Marlene graduated from Moody Bible Institute, majoring in Christian Education and received her Special Ed. degree from Eastern Michigan University. She has taught in the public schools and more recently tutored children with special needs from her home. Marlene's main ministry (since 1978) has been to her husband, Bert, a spinal cord injured quadriplegic, who recently went home to be with the Lord. They have served together with H*VMI since 1999.
