Missionary:      LISA HIESTAND

With H*VMI Since: 2005

What I do at H*VMI:

• work as a counselor/educator with REST Ministries
• provide one-on-one and group counseling for women and children who are overcoming abuse
• speak publicly regarding abuse issues and enjoy sharing my testimony of God's faithfulness

About Me:

Family: I am the wife of John Hiestand for over 20 years and the mother of three children: John, Grace, and Emily. John, my oldest child, is attending college at Geneva for Engineering. Grace and Emily attend the Donegal School district.
 
Hobbies: Some hobbies I enjoy are bike riding, reading, sewing, playing games with my family, and my favorite hobby is vacationing at the beach or by a lake.
 
Background: I was born and raised in Ephrata, PA. I attended college in Philadelphia and Hawaii and graduated with a B.A. in Psychology. For the past 20 years I have worked with women and children to educate regarding abuse issues and prevention. Often this leads to counseling with women who are overcoming issues of abuse.
 
My Life Verse: One of my favorite books of the Bible is Isaiah. Favorite verses are Isaiah 30:21, 41:10 & 13, 45:8. I have prayed these verses for the past 20 years for myself and my family.
