BASIS has a new program to offer for grieving children and teens. The name is C2H2 which stands for Compassion, Comfort, Healing & Hope and is based on 2 Corinthians 1:3-7...
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.
My name is Michelle Noble, and I am a new missionary with HVMI. In 2010, God called me to minister to children and families who are grieving and have experienced a loss. C2H2 is a peer to peer support group that brings children and teens together so they know that they are not alone in their grief. As we come together, we provide opportunities for legacy building as well as outlets of expression through art, music, games and sharing with others.
If you have a child between the ages of 5 and 18 who is grieving the loss of someone close to them, and are looking for resources, please feel free to contact me. C2H2 is offering a 4 week program during the month of March on Monday evenings from 7-9pm in Lancaster.
