BASIS

ministering to parents who have experienced the loss of a child.

The death of a child is like no other loss. The grief is profound and deep. Our BASIS staff, including some who have personally experienced this grief journey, is willing to walk alongside and help "bear the burden" of grieving parents who have lost a child for any reason, whether that child is not yet born, stillborn, a baby, a toddler, a teen or an adult. Our support system includes opportunities for:

  • personal contact
  • an encouraging newsletter
  • support groups specifically for parents who have lost a child at any age, including miscarriage or stillbirth
  • group activities
  • resources for parents or those wanting to support parents
It’s so hard not to become moody or irritable. I keep asking, ‘Lord, why did you take my child?’ I look forward to having the fellowship and comfort of meeting with other parents who have lost a child. It helps to share the hurt and be reminded of the hope Jesus offers.
