Disability Ministries Opportunities
Note: Prospective volunteers may visit and observe ministry opportunities. After initial visit, all volunteers must complete a volunteer application and applicable background check requirements.
KEY: Letters indicate ministry needs for each location. H*VMI will train individuals or groups interested in serving.
T= Assist in transporting residents within facility.
B= Bible teaching opportunities.
V= One-on-one visitation opportunities with residents for Bible reading, prayer, listening and offering words of encouragement.
M= Music including leading in worship, playing the piano, guitar, special music, etc.
A= General assistance may include serving snack, reading Scripture, helping with craft or activity.
I= Interpreter needed regularly/on occasion. (Sign Language, Spanish)

Elwyn, Media PA: A residential home for people with developmental disabilities. Third Thursday evenings, monthly. [T, B, A]
Inglis House, Philadelphia PA: A residential facility for adults with multiple disabilities. Second Tuesday afternoons, monthly. [T, B, V, M, A]
Sunny Crest, Morgantown PA: Home for adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities. Third Monday mornings, monthly. [B, V, M, A]
Lancaster Bible Clubs and Studies, Ephrata PA area: Bible programs for children, teens and adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities. Various evenings throughout the month. [B, M, A, I]
Voorhees Care and Rehab Center, Voorhees NJ: Nursing home ministry. Second Friday evenings, monthly. [V, M, A]
